Bleacher Report – NBA - 1 year ago.

Fast-food junkies may dream of one day owning a Wendy's restaurant. That's child's play for Chauncey Billups, who now owns 30.

The Wall Street Journal (h/t Beyond the Buzzer) reports the Detroit Pistons star partnered with former NBA player Junior Bridgeman to buy 30 Wendy's franchises in the St. Louis area.

We will assume the images of Frosty shakes, Biggie fries and Baconators are dancing in your head at the moment.

Before you run out to satiate that hunger, let's deliver some particulars from the report.

It seems Bridgeman—a businessman who played in the NBA from 1975 to 1987 for teams such as the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Clippers—is the second-largest... Read more

Bleacher Report – NBA - 3 hours ago. After experiencing decreasing returns in recent years, the Los Angeles Lakers seem to be making a concerted effort to rebrand themselves. Byron Scott, the team’s new head coach, is leading the charge, embracing traditional concepts like team responsibility. You’ll hear phrases […]...

Predicting the Roles and Impact of Each Detroit Pistons Newcomer This Season

Bleacher Report – NBA - 5 hours ago. This offseason the Detroit Pistons brought in six new players to fill a variety of roles, from starters to end-of-the-bench types. New coach and team president Stan Van Gundy was aggressive in the free-agent market, finding players to address their biggest weakness in 2013-14: perimeter shooting. At a 32.1 percent mark from beyond the arc, […]...

Predicting Kyrie Irving’s Production as Cleveland Cavs’ Third Wheel

Bleacher Report – NBA - 9 hours ago. No NBA player has had a better offseason than Kyrie Irving, whose role with the Cleveland Cavaliers has (thankfully) changed tremendously over the past few months. Diagnosing Chicago Bulls’ Remaining Roster Flaws

Bleacher Report – NBA - 10 hours ago. The Chicago Bulls did an exceptional job filling out their roster this past summer, but there are still a couple of flaws in its construction—if we nitpick. The Bulls bolstered the frontcourt, adding two solid bigs in Pau Gasol and Nikola Mirotic. Trading with the Denver Nuggets for Doug McDermott was also a big addition […]...

FIBA Tournament Proving Derrick Rose’s Climb Back Will Be a Slow One

Bleacher Report – NBA - 12 hours ago. It was easy to believe, mostly because we all wanted to believe it, that Derrick Rose, a pair of injuries and lost years behind him, was officially ready to reassume his rightful place within the league’s point guard pantheon. Even if the stats or competitive circumstances stand short of spectacular, Rose’s heart—hardened, no doubt, by […]...

Timberwolves Wise to Double Down on Andrew Wiggins, Anthony Bennett Pairing

Bleacher Report – NBA - 14 hours ago. It was a good move, from acquiring an elite prospect like Andrew Wiggins to securing Anthony Bennett as a buy-low throw-in.  The Minnesota Timberwolves weren’t winning with Kevin Love, anyway.  Of course, the typical skeptic will argue against dealing established talent for guys whose appeal is strictly tied to long-term potential, given the uncertainty that […]...

Will Steve Nash Be Los Angeles Lakers’ Biggest X-Factor in 2014-15?

Bleacher Report – NBA - 16 hours ago. Steve Nash still matters to the Los Angeles Lakers. For the most part, this aging and fading 40-year-old star matters because of what he can’t do. He has played in only 65 games since 2012-13, including just 15 last season. The Nash Los Angeles thought it was getting in 2012 is gone, supplanted instead by […]...

Bleacher Report – NBA - 16 hours ago. Burgeoning New Orleans Pelicans big man Anthony Davis is ready for everything. Ready to be the NBA’s “next in line,” as he was christened by reigning MVP Kevin Durant in the media. Ready to be Team USA’s “main guy” like coach Mike Krzyzewski told reporters he would. Most importantly, Davis is ready to put the Pelicans on his back […]...

Is Kevin Durant Ready to Become the NBA’s Signature Player?

Bleacher Report – NBA - 17 hours ago. It might just be time to anoint Kevin Durant as he marches towards the paths of Kobe Bryant and LeBron James. This isn’t to suggest he just arrived. After accumulating four scoring titles and the 2013-14 MVP trophy through seven seasons, I think it’s safe to say Durant’s been on the map for quite some […]...
